Race 7: Starter Allowance $50,000 at one mile for fillies and mares
2 – Prize Taker
3 – Too Good to B True
I can’t resist talking about a race that Prize Taker (#2) is finally going to win. In theory, the main track should suit her better than the inner, and her recent races are just better than what the others have been running. That said, there is one other interesting horse in the race. Too Good to B True (#3) made a crazy middle move two back and then was against a slow pace last time when finishing behind Prize Taker. I think Too Good to B True is better on dirt than her last two races suggest and she’s the only other one I want to use in here.

Race 8: Allowance N1X at one mile for fillies and mares
6 – Mine for Life
Some stats just cannot be ignored, such as this one for Kiaran McLaughlin: Stretching out last-out maiden winners on the dirt, Kiaran is 10-for-21 over the past 5 years ($3.51 ROI) and 17 of those were in the money. Plus, it’s not as if all of those were young horses. Mine for Life’s last was pretty good – perhaps better than the speed figure suggests. Her pedigree indicates that a route should be no problem, and I’ll take her to beat Sheriffa, who meets much tougher here, and Checkupfromzneckup, who has had some excuses but is starting to run out of chances.
